Forms and Representationssearch for term
Within a typical biology curricula are standard forms and representations? that help biologists reason about ecosystem carbon cycling. These forms and representations might be illustrations, conceptual models, mental images or other things that make concepts more concrete. 1) Matter (atoms, molecules, tissues, organs, whole organisms, biomass of an entire trophic level, gasses, liquids, fossil fuels, food) 2) Ecosystem Matter Flow (Food chain/web diagrams, box and arrow diagrams, chemical equations) 3) Energy (sunlight, chemical potential energy within an organisms biomolecules, chemical potential energy of fossil fuels, electrical, kinetic, etc.) 4) Ecosystem Energy Flow (Food chain/web diagrams, box and arrow diagrams)
